Call on Him
This has been a rough week for many. Charlie Kirk was tragically assassinated, a school shooting in Colorado left two students injured, and we marked the solemn anniversary of 9/11.This violence was seen repeatedly on TV and social media, intensifying its impact on everyone. In light of this difficult week, I present three bible verses.
Charlie Kirk was a man who stood on biblical convictions. He stood for the Kingdom of God. The enemy attempted to attack the Kingdom of Heaven, but instead, a fire erupted, and people all over the world are now spreading the gospel. Charlie Kirk was martyred for his unwavering voice and faith in Jesus Christ. When a martyr’s blood touches the throne, it turns the vengeance of God towards the evil one on this earth.
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord” Romans 12:19.
Charlie Kirk was attached for his beliefs and faith in the Lord. He spread the truth and lost his life doing what we are all called to do.
“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:9-10
To those impacted by the Colorado shooting, the traumatic and violent death of Charlie Kirk, or the anniversary of 9/11, I urge you to seek the Lord.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.
Jesus does not turn anyone away to responds to the call; “Come unto Me” shows the open invitation. He is our personal Saviour. Jesus calls everyone who is burdened, whether that be with everyday life or the events of this week, to come to Him and He will bring rest to their soul.
We are tired, but God is moving. The King of King and Lord of Lords said, “Thy will be done.”
We are awake. We will not be silenced.
